The Proposal
The date was August 16, 2008. We had spent the day with Mark's family at a reunion and I had just met a WHOLE buch of his family members for the first time. We spent the day swimming, snacking and having a good time, so needless to say by the time we got home around 7:00 I was tired and just wanted to snuggle up with our pup, Oscar and relax. Oscar had gotten a haircut earlier that day and Mark said he wanted to take him to the park and take pictures of Oscar with his new 'do. I resisted, I was tired and I wanted to be lazy! Mark finally convinced me to go to the park (which just so happened to be where we went on our second date), so off we went. We were walking around for awhile, Mark wanted to go sit on the swing we had been on when we were there on our second date, but just as we were getting there someone stole it! So we went over to another area and while I was sitting on a bench, Mark was taking photos of Oscar and the lake. He asked me to come out on the dock that juts out into the lake, where he got down on one knee and asked me to spend my life with him! I was beyond excited and was just trying to keep ahold of the dog so he didn't run away! After we enjoyed the few moments to ourselves, off we went to my parents house to share the good news with them! The rest is history :)
